After 17 years of going progressively downhill, jumping through pointless, repetitive hoops that felt increasingly like punishment for being disabled rather than support to help me find work - they've acknowledged that I'm seriously ill, and set me free. It may or may not lose me some money (not sure yet, depends on Universal Credit) but it more than repays me by letting me feel a bit more secure about where the next meal is coming from.
I'm not sure whether or not I believe in a deity, but I'm offering up wholehearted thanks anyway. For the first time in a long time, I feel like someone has my back. Gratitude is also aimed at the healthcare professional who conducted my face-to-face examination late last year, who, having experienced chronic thunderclap type migraine themselves, just "got it".
Now I can focus on getting well.
