Poor braincell
8 December 2018 11:05I spent years trying to adapt my poor, easily-confused braincell to the way Tumblr works, and the speed at which it works. Now I'm having to remind it how a Livejournal fork works, having left that learning curve behind several years ago. I think I'm getting the hang of it again. Dreamwidth is doing very confusing things to my image uploads, though. I may have to adapt my brain back to the world of text-only! I'll miss the easily-inserted reaction gifs of Tumblr, and the tag-talk.
I never did post much fanfic on Dreamwidth, LJ, Journalfen, etc, though it's a nice enough platform for reading it. I've pretty much gone from hosting my own fanfic website/s to using AO3. Once Upon a Time turned out to be a watershed fandom for me in a bunch of ways, not the least of them technological. I feel at a bit of a loss now, even though I won't miss the awkward Tumblr interface, or the pace of content there.
Nothing much here will be filtered, I suspect. I may create a posting filter for Nym's Breasts - short story is that I'm on the waiting list for a double mastectomy, having both a high risk of cancer and uncomfortably large boobs. Not everyone wants to read about my boobs or the details of surgery, so a filter will come in handy! Other than that, I don't have the attention span to use filtered posting effectively. If I ever post anything nsfw, I'll mark the post as such with the age-restriction thingy. My Tumblr was pretty tame, though, give or take the odd swear - it's my fanfic where the smut tends to happen.
